Encapsulate has developed a tumor-on-a-chip system that is designed to help inform physicians of the most effective chemotherapy treatment option before treatment begins. Its patented technology can grow up to 100 microtumors outside of the body from a single tumor biopsy sample. The microtumors can be exposed to different chemotherapy drugs and analyzed by the company's nCapsulizer machine to asses which drug may be the most effective in reducing the growth of a cancer.
